Addressing Systematic Risk: The Sustainable Development Goals - Boston

June 13, 2018 @ 4:00 PM

Location: Channel Center, One Iron Street, Boston, MA 02210

Delegates are invited to join the PRI as we reflect upon the value of the Sustainable Development Goals as a tool to assist fiduciary investors in their journey to contribute to a resilient financial system and to address system risk in their investment processes.

Adopted in 2015 by 193 countries, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) present a globally agreed upon framework for companies, policy-makers, NGOs and investors to address societal risk. Investors may use them to better identify future risk alongside potential investment opportunities. However, the debate continues regarding how institutional investors practically factor the SDGs into their investment process.

This interactive dialogue will feature a diverse range of speakers reflecting on how investors take the SDGs into account in their investment processes, and next steps. There will be questions and exchanges with audience participants on key questions concerning the approach to SDG incorporation in North America.

The outcomes of this discussion will help shape the PRI’s future work plan around this global debate.

Confirmed speakers include:
  • Todd Bridges, ESG Research and Strategy Development, State Street Global Advisors
  • Geoff Burger, CEO of Culture Capital
  • Robert G. Eccles, Visiting Professor of Management Practice, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford
  • Carly M. Greenberg, Senior ESG Analyst, Walden Asset Management
  • David Wood, Director of the Initiative for Responsible Investment, Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government
