BASIC Appreciation

Thanks to all of our individual and Affiliate members, the Boston-Area Sustainable Investment Consortium (BASIC) had a wonderful and successful year in 2013!  BASIC member companies worked with the Management Team to host seven educational programs on topics ranging from corporate political spending to human rights abuses in the apparel supply chain BASIC members also joined together for both a Summer and Holiday Social gathering purely to enjoy each other’s company and have fun.

At the BASIC Holiday Social in December, the Management Team commemorated how much we appreciate the partnership of our Affiliate Member companies as well as  the commitment of individual members.  Accordingly, at this event BASIC unveiled a new recognition program called “BASIC Appreciations.”  For 2013, the Team extended Appreciation acknowledgements to four Affiliate Member companies and one individual member.

The recognition categories and the recipients:

Affiliates with the Most Active Members

The three companies recognized with this Appreciation either had individuals who consistently attended all the BASIC events this year, or are being  acknowledged for having the largest number of employees present at a  number of BASIC events.

Affiliate of the Year

To be clear, all BASIC Affiliate Member companies are amazing! However, in 2013, Zevin Asset Management not only hosted its own event focused on corporate political spending and lobbying activities in February, but also provided a location for Green Century to host an October program focused on hydraulic fracturing issues.  By lending its assistance to programs twice in 2013, Zevin receives BASIC’s upmost appreciation!

Member of the Year

BASIC owes a great deal of appreciation to all of its members who engage in BASIC programs, asking great questions of the presenters, and continually initiating thought-provoking conversations and dialogues.  BASIC would be nothing without its members’ support, attendance, and participation.  For 2013, BASIC recognized a Member of the Year who, since joining BASIC at the end of 2012, participated in every single BASIC program during 2013.  Congratulations and thank you, Marion Rockwood!
